Job description

AMERICAN MUNICIPAL POWER, INC. JOB DESCRIPTION This position may be eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of remote work and in-office reporting) with the coordination and approval of the appropriate supervisor. The position is located in and will report out of Columbus, OH.

Position Title: Senior Reporting Systems Analyst Reports To: Chief Technology Officer FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Basic Functions: The Reporting Systems Analyst will be responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining business intelligence (technology-driven) reporting processes that are integral to AMP, AMP’s Member’s, and AMP’s line of business applications. This position will be responsible for developing and extending a unified reporting platform that processes and integrates data to and from multiple and diverse systems and technologies. This position will also serve as a data steward to maintain data quality and accuracy in reporting and be responsible for providing support and guidance for effective utilization of AMP’s reporting systems environment.

Job Breakdown: • 40% - Provide support for existing reports and for systems that support reporting. • 20% - Meet with end customers to define business use cases for reports and automation, help to solve complex analytic issues, build reports within SRSS system. Serve as a “data steward” for the sources of data required in reports.

Work with line of business system owners and IT department personnel to maintain data quality and standardization across the organization. • 20% - Gather, document and create process automation jobs for all lines of business • 10% - Gather and document requirements for reports and for supporting reporting related systems. • 10% - Enterprise data analysis and evaluation.

Breaking down data silos to increase organizational efficiency. • Travel may be required at times (<10%) Essential Functions: 1. Participates in assigned projects according to the IT project management methodology, procedures, and processes.

2. Utilizes SQL Server's SSRS to present report data that is most meaningful and readily accessible to end-users. Design, create, and maintain standardized and/or customized database-driven reports for end users and clients.

3. Formally maintain a reporting development process that consists of requests forms, change management forms, requirements documents, and process flow diagrams. Ensure this development process is followed and the appropriate approvers sign off on new report requests.

4. Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability as well as controlled and well- managed deployments of reports. 5.

Provide 1st and 2nd, and 3rd, level application support for MS SQL Server. a. Reporting Services (SSRS) and the rest of the reporting application stack.

6. Assists with planning and upgrades related to LOB and reporting applications. 7.

Collaborates with company decision makers to gather and document business requirements for reporting, business intelligence, programming and analytical needs. 8. Provides training and support of published reports and dashboards.

9. Prepares change management request forms, configuration management request forms, access request forms, and other miscellaneous forms as required for tasks. Coordinates the communication and approval process for these forms.

10. Actively participates in technical and business innovation efforts. 11.

Weekend and off peak hours implementations are part of the work duties, as well as being part of a rotating 24x7 on-call support team. 12. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other Information Technology Degree, or 5 years of exact experience. 2.

3-5 years of experience developing and distributing complex reports using Microsoft SQL Server, including SSRS and Analysis Services. Experience building SQL queries, views, stored procedures, functions, and jobs for reporting is also required. 3.

Knowledge of extract, transform, and load practices, organizational and data driven reporting, process and query optimization and automation and of utility data and data source systems. 4. This individual should have prior experience utilizing Microsoft SQL Server platforms and tools including Management Studio (SSMS), Data Tools (SSDT), Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Service (SSRS), be proficient in the reading, writing and use of Microsoft Transact-SQL (T-SQL) Statements and command line utilities, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Visio.

5. Prior experience using and integrating with enterprise historians is highly desired. 6.

Excellent demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. 7. Proficiency in SQL, SQL Reporting Services, Visual Studio, T-SQL.

8. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel: VB Macros, vlookup, and other Excel functions. 9.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. 10. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities and meet deadlines.

11. Capable of managing complex reporting projects. 12.

Must be able to work in a team environment and periodically work under high stress conditions. 13. Must be able to work in a fast paced operations center environment.

14. The individual must be extremely well organized and very good at both written and verbal communication. This person must be able to perform scoping exercises, requirements design documents, and process flow documents as it relates to report development.

15. This individual may assist with other tasks, such as assisting with preparing presentations to management, and being part of an on-call IT support rotation.
