Job Summary
Battelle is currently seeking an IT Infrastructure Administrator to join our team to support the Corporate Information Technology department that supports the critical infrastructure that drives our research and engineering projects. This is a hybrid position located in Columbus, OH.
The IT Infrastructure Admin should have a foundational understanding of VMWare, Windows, Linux and a variety of storage solutions. This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining our infrastructure, managing storage and backups, and ensuring our systems are running efficiently. This position offers hands-on experience with a variety of technologies and has opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor VMware infrastructure to ensure high performance, availability, and security.
  • Perform server and storage updates and upgrades as needed.
  • Build and configure Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Work with HP Synergy for server management and provisioning.
  • Assist with managing infrastructure platforms, including databases, Microsoft Enterprise Configuration Manager, and Intune.
  • Handle incidents and request tickets in ServiceNow.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer information systems; two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
  • Requires a background check that would not preclude a security clearance being granted.
  • VMware Infrastructure: Basic knowledge of VMware environments, including monitoring, maintenance, and performing updates and upgrades.
  • Windows Server Administration: Experience with deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server environments.
  • Print Server administration: Experience with MFD fleet maintenance.
  • EMC Storage Solutions: Familiarity with EMC storage management, including allocation and maintenance.HP Synergy: Experience working with HP Synergy for server management.
  • Infrastructure Platforms:
    • Familiarity with databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
    • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Intune.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration:
    • Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Purview, Intune
  • Strong communication skills and ability to advocate for projects and departmental goals.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Understand security requirements in a multi-compliance framework environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for automation.

Compensation Data
  • Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $67,000 to $94,000 per year, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
