Spanish Speaking Professional Development Consultant

What You’ll Do
The Professional Development (PD) Consultant is a contractor role responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, accessible training sessions to child care professionals throughout Central Ohio. This role works closely with Action for Children’s Professional Development team to ensure that child care providers receive relevant, engaging, and impactful learning experiences.

This position is ideal for an experienced trainer who is a native Spanish speaker or fluent in Spanish, passionate about supporting early childhood professionals, and enjoys flexible, part-time work.

In this role, you will:

  • Facilitate high-quality professional development (in-person and virtual) for child care professionals
  • Deliver engaging and interactive sessions aligned with Ohio Approved (OA) standards
  • Provide guidance and support to early childhood professionals seeking professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate with Action for Children staff to schedule and plan trainings
  • Represent Action for Children in a professional and positive manner at all times

Successful Candidates Will Have

  • Current Level 3 or higher Ohio Approved Instructor status (required)
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in early childhood education, child development, or related field
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Reliable personal technology (laptop, internet access, etc.) to support virtual training delivery
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, both in-person and online
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for all individuals
  • Reliable transportation (travel may be required for in-person trainings)
  • Strong grasp of adult learning principles and instructional design
  • Ability to foster trust and engagement while promoting educator growth
  • Awareness of how race, gender, and class intersect to impact educators, programs, and families
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Zoom, and other videoconferencing tools

Desired but Not Required

  • Familiarity with the Ohio Professional Registry
  • Knowledge of Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) and Ohio child care licensing rules
  • Understanding of the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
