Registered Echo Technologist
Job Description
The Registered Echo Technologist performs and assists with cardiovascular procedures ordered by physicians to assist in the diagnosis of patients. The role includes carrying out department policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of quality of care, while also engaging positively with patients, families, and medical staff.
Responsibilities
  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to locate, evaluate, and record anatomical, pathological, and functional data for diagnosis.
  • Conducts stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiography, 2-D echo with M-mode, color flow, and cardiac Doppler.
  • Records procedure data in patient charts and informs physicians of critical test results.
  • Maintains and disinfects cardiology equipment.
  • Handles clerical duties, supply inventory, and patient transport as needed.
  • Participates in monthly cardiovascular meetings and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
  • Supervises and instructs students and precepts new employees.
  • Implements patient care standards, ensuring patient rights and privacy are maintained per HIPAA guidelines.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Vascular/Echocardiography from an accredited institution or relevant on-the-job training.
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or ARDMS registered cardiac sonographer, or registry-eligible.
  • CPR certification required.
  • One to two years of preferred experience as an echocardiography technician.

This position operates on a day shift.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
