Mortgage Loan Originator

Position Summary:

Responsible for creating better lives and futures for the people and communities that we proudly serve. Manages Customer Relationships at assigned Banking Centers. This position increases the mortgage loan portfolio, develops business contacts and attracts mortgage customers.

Department: Underwriting

Reporting Relationships: Reports directly to the Mortgage Banking Executive


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts self according to the UNIFIED Way.
  1. Attracts new mortgage loan applications by developing relationship with the real estate community and makes sales calls to prospective customers.
  1. Develops a networking strategy to identify prospects.
  1. Develops and implements a call strategy in order to contact prospects.
  1. Creates convenience by promptly answering customer calls and meeting with customers based on times which are convenient for the customer. (Includes times outside of normal business hours).
  1. Expands customer relationships by proactively reviewing customer needs.
  1. Make recommendations and provides mortgage advice to customers.
  1. Maintains an exceptional customer experience at all points of contact, both externally and internally.
  1. Serves as the liaison between the customer and the other areas of the Bank to meet the customer’s needs and resolve any customer issues.
  1. Identifies depository and other cross-selling opportunities for the customer.
  1. Ensures all documentation is in place for prompt decision making related to the loan process.
  1. Coordinates and communicates regularly with the Mortgage Lending Executive.
  1. Provides and prepares detailed loan information as requested.
  1. Actively participates in, and supports, Community Activities to promote the Bank and its products.
  1. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Lending Regulations, Deposit Regulations, etc.
  1. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors Degree in Business/Finance and/or 5 years of relevant experience in the Banking Industry preferred
  2. 3 to 5 years of lending/origination experience
  3. Exceptional Leadership and Coaching skills
  4. Experience with Microsoft Office products
  5. Must maintain an active NMLS
