What does a Data Analytics Supervisor do?

  • Serves as data analyst supporting Major Unusual Incidents (MUI) and Compliance operations within the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD).

  • Develops and maintains Tableau dashboards, reports, automated reporting solutions, and ad hoc analyses related to MUI activities, compliance reviews, provider oversight, county board oversight, and operational performance.

  • Supports reporting and analytics activities using data from multiple DODD systems, including ITMS and RDS, as well as Medicaid claims and other health-related data sources.

  • Analyzes data trends, patterns, and operational issues to support program staff, leadership, county boards, providers, and other stakeholders.

  • Generates, tracks, and automates performance measures, ensuring timely tracking of agency goals, outcomes, and reporting requirements.

  • Validates data accuracy and assists with identifying reporting, data quality, and system concerns.

  • Responds to questions from county boards, providers, internal staff, and other stakeholders.

  • Works independently to identify reporting needs, prioritize assignments, and develop data solutions that support agency operations and decision-making.

  • Utilizes reporting and analytics tools including Tableau, SQL, Python, and other technologies, as appropriate.

  • Develops and maintains documentation, report definitions, business rules, and reporting standards.

  • Participates in office hours and provides guidance and support to report and dashboard users and stakeholders.

  • Participates in agency-wide data committees, reporting workgroups, and data governance and data quality initiatives.

  • Coordinates with program areas and information technology staff to improve reporting processes, data quality, and understanding of DODD systems and business processes.

  • Maintains working knowledge of DODD systems, Medicaid and health-related data, and how data connects and flows across systems.

  • Supports emerging analytics, automation, and agentic AI initiatives that improve reporting, data access, operational efficiency, and user support.
