Job Description: CNC Machinist / Set-up

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Set-up to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts and components that meet strict quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC milling, turning, or grinding machines according to specifications.
  • Programming & Setup: Load programs, adjust machine settings, and perform tool changes as required.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with tolerances.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine machine maintenance and report issues to supervisors.
  • Production Support: Monitor production runs, troubleshoot problems, and make adjustments to optimize efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production, inspections, and machine performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all workplace safety standards, including proper use of PPE and adherence to facility protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC machining preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with G-code programming and CNC software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
