Data & AI Platforms ManagerJob Summary

Our client is seeking a Data & AI Platforms Manager to lead the design, development, implementation, administration, governance, and modernization of enterprise analytics, reporting, and AI solutions. This role oversees end-to-end analytics platforms within Microsoft Fabric, including migration of legacy reporting solutions to Fabric-native technologies, and partners with cross-functional business teams to ensure data accessibility, quality, security, and structure for effective reporting, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence initiatives. The manager will lead the organization’s Microsoft Fabric platform strategy, administration, governance, and AI innovation efforts while prioritizing and managing requests, projects, and resources to ensure timely and accurate delivery of business intelligence, data, and AI solutions. Location and Work Arrangement

This position is 100% onsite to start while ramping up and will most likely convert to a hybrid schedule over time. Candidates must be currently located in the Columbus, OH area. This role is not open to C2C, visa sponsorship, or third parties.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages the development, administration, and maintenance of end-to-end analytics solutions, ensuring robust data governance, security, compliance, and performance across the Microsoft Fabric platform.

  • Serves as the primary administrator and steward of the Microsoft Fabric environment, including workspace management, capacity planning, governance, security controls, monitoring, and platform optimization.

  • Works closely with internal teams to ensure data is available, accurate, secure, and structured for reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives.

  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration to support data-driven decision making across the organization.

  • Leads the design, development, and deployment of Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring reports and visualizations are insightful, actionable, and aligned with business objectives.

  • Oversees Microsoft Fabric architecture, including Data Factory, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, OneLake, Real-Time Analytics, Power BI, semantic models, and related platform capabilities, ensuring scalability and alignment with business needs.

  • Leads the assessment, modernization, and migration of existing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports to Microsoft Fabric Paginated Reports, Power BI dashboards, and other Fabric-native reporting solutions where appropriate, ensuring improved usability, scalability, governance, and alignment with enterprise reporting standards.

  • Develops and enforces enterprise standards, policies, and best practices for data management, reporting, analytics, AI solutions, and self-service business intelligence.

  • Leads the identification, evaluation, and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning initiatives that improve operational efficiency, automate business processes, and enhance organizational decision-making capabilities.

  • Collaborates with business leaders and technology teams to define and execute an enterprise AI roadmap, including Microsoft Copilot, generative AI, predictive analytics, and other emerging AI technologies.

  • Establishes governance frameworks for responsible AI usage, ensuring compliance with company policies, security requirements, privacy standards, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Manages reporting, analytics, and AI requests, ensuring timely prioritization and execution.

  • Implements agile methodologies to improve workflow efficiency, solution quality, and delivery times.

  • Manages direct reports and a team of consultants through leadership and guidance, including delegation of work, talent development, coaching, succession planning, and performance management.

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation within the analytics and AI functions and implements enhancements as appropriate.

  • Maintains awareness of emerging trends and advancements in business intelligence, Microsoft Fabric, cloud data platforms, AI, machine learning, and analytics technologies and recommends adoption opportunities that provide business value.

  • Handles third-party vendor relationships for supplemental work capacity, platform support, consulting services, and specialized technical expertise.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant training and/or experience.

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in design, development, implementation, and support of analytics, data, and reporting solutions.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric or comparable enterprise analytics and data platforms.

  • Experience leading or supporting AI, machine learning, automation, or advanced analytics initiatives preferred.

  • Prior experience managing people REQUIRED.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, project management, and time-management skills.

  • In-depth knowledge and experience developing business intelligence solutions, dashboards, analytics platforms, semantic models, and data architecture.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric administration, governance, security, workspace management, capacity management, and platform optimization.

  • Experience with Power BI, Paginated Reports, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, data governance, and cloud-based analytics architecture.

  • Experience migrating legacy reporting platforms, including SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), to Microsoft Fabric Paginated Reports, Power BI, and modern self-service analytics solutions.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise reporting architectures, report optimization, semantic models, and reporting governance best practices.

  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence, generative AI, machine learning concepts, Microsoft Copilot technologies, prompt engineering, and AI governance best practices.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Results-driven and able to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of homebuilding industry information systems is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Fabric certification(s).

  • Power BI certification(s).

  • Experience with Azure data and AI services.

  • Experience implementing enterprise AI governance, Microsoft Copilot, or generative AI solutions.

  • Experience leading large-scale reporting modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
