Job description

Controls Engineer
Fives Group is looking for experienced Controls Engineers to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design of Electrical hardware circuits (AutoCAD Electrical)
  • Design of PLC Software programs and development HMI screens to customer specifications (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
  • Conduct the peripheral device programming and machine PLC programming
  • Supervise and coordinate and the machine debug, power up, and machine validation with mechanical build and electrical teams
  • Set up and configure communication networks but not limited to device net, Ethernet and remote I/O
  • Commission and validation systems at the customer's location
  • Must be able to travel throughout North America to customer's locations.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years with Controls and Electrical design
  • Strong PLC programming experience
  • Technical degree in an electrical related field preferred (Bachelor's preferred, but will consider other degrees and experience)
  • Experience with material handling, conveyors, or other customer equipment is ideal. Experience with food industry equipment is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience working with an ERP/MRP system and creating BOMs
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for commissioning and installs as needed
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong organizational skills
