Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Utility Locator to join our field service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately locating underground utilities and infrastructure to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires a strong understanding of land surveying, blueprint reading, and utility locating techniques, with a focus on safety and precision. The Utility Locator will work on construction sites, utilizing various equipment and tools to identify underground utilities and prevent potential hazards.

Duties

  • Conduct precise utility locating using specialized equipment and techniques to identify underground cables, pipes, and other infrastructure.
  • Interpret blueprints, maps, and construction plans to assist in locating utilities accurately.
  • Operate field equipment such as backhoes, forklifts, and cabling tools as needed for site preparation and utility marking.
  • Collaborate with construction teams and service technicians to coordinate safe excavation activities.
  • Document findings thoroughly and communicate locations clearly to project managers and field crews.
  • Assist in land surveying tasks related to site layout and utility placement.
  • Maintain safety standards by adhering to all safety protocols during field operations.
