Job description

Office Administrator

Chesterton Academy of St. Benedict, a Catholic classical high school, seeks an Office Administrator to support the Headmaster and the Board of Directors in connection with school administration matters. The Office Administrator will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations and effective administrative processes for the school. This position is full-time during the school year (with days off when the school is closed) and part-time over summer break.

Office Administration

  • Manage day-to-day front office operations, including student attendance and receiving telephone calls and visitors to the school
  • Manage school and student files in the School Information System
  • Assist with recordkeeping and submissions related to accreditation and governmental funding
  • Coordinate communications with families
  • Oversee planning and logistics for various school activities
  • Assist with volunteer management
  • Other administrative tasks as the Headmaster may designate

Fundraising and Promotional Efforts

  • Provide support for fundraising and marketing plans and events

Admissions

  • Assist with promotional efforts, including the Academy website, promotional materials, and the hosting of potential students
  • Oversee administration of student application and enrollment processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Eagerness and flexibility in taking on the varied tasks associated with a growing institution
