Job description

About this role:

This role supports Consumer Technology's digital platforms and customer authentication solutions, helping to advance the business roadmap for the branch experience and contributing to the development of next-generation banker platforms. These platforms are designed to provide bankers with more intuitive tools, real-time insights, and faster feedback loops, enabling continuous improvement based on user needs and direct interaction with the technology.

In this role, you will work alongside engineering teams to support the development, testing, and enhancement of secure, scalable applications used across the enterprise. You will also help analyze feedback from bankers and users to identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to delivering enhancements that can be quickly validated in real-world environments.

This position is ideal for early-career candidates with an interest in application development, cloud technologies, and user-centric design. You will gain hands-on experience collaborating across teams, supporting enterprise-scale systems, and contributing to technology that directly impacts how employees serve customers.

You will also participate in the Career Opportunities in Development and Engineering (CODE) Program. The CODE program is a two-year engineering development experience designed for individuals who are early in their technical careers. The program is intended for candidates with approximately 6 months to 2 years of hands-on engineering experience.

The CODE Program offers meaningful, real-world work combined with structured professional development, mentorship, and exposure to a broad range of technologies across the enterprise. Upon successful completion of the program, participants are eligible for promotion and continued employment, subject to business needs and performance expectations.

CODE provides:

  • Immersive onboarding and foundational technical training

  • A supportive cohort experience of peers starting their tech careers

  • Dedicated mentors and program managers who guide your development

  • Professional development, career coaching, and workshops

Wells Fargo only considers candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who do not require work visa sponsorship now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development and enhancement of digital applications that improve the branch and banker experience

  • Contribute to initiatives advancing the next-generation banker platform, helping deliver tools that provide real-time insights and improved usability

  • Assist in analyzing feedback from bankers and users to identify opportunities for enhancements and measure the impact of system improvements

  • Participate in building a continuous feedback loop, helping teams quickly validate changes and see progress in real-world use

  • Support engineering teams with application development activities, including testing, debugging, and validating functionality

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, security) to support delivery of secure and scalable technology solutions

  • Assist in translating business needs into technical requirements and application improvements

  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of application issues to ensure a reliable and seamless user experience

  • Help ensure applications align with security, risk, and compliance standards, particularly for authentication and user access

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance performance, reliability, and overall user experience

Required Qualifications:

6+ months of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of hands-on experience with full stack application development, including using Java (preferred) with frameworks such as Spring and building user interfaces with React or React Native.

  • Experience (approximately 6+ months) using development tools and workflows, including Git-based version control systems such as GitHub to manage code, collaborate with teams, and track changes.

  • Experience (approximately 6+ months) working with modern application environments, including understanding how applications connect across frontend, backend, and APIs in a full stack environment.

  • Foundational knowledge gained through recent coursework or projects, internships or hands-on roles supporting deployments or enhancements in SaaS or cloud-based systems.

  • Experience working in team-based environments, including collaborating with engineers, participating in standups or code reviews, and supporting testing, debugging, or release activities.

  • Working knowledge of Generative AI and large language models (LLMs), including the ability to create effective prompts, understand retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns, and explain how models are used within applications

  • Proficiency in Python and/or modern application languages (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript) demonstrated by building or supporting AI-enabled or data-driven features in projects, internships, or work environments

  • Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar tools, including using them to connect models, manage workflows, or support chatbot-style applications

  • Relevant certifications or learning achievements in AI/ML or AI services, such as completing industry-recognized courses, certifications, or hands-on training programs demonstrating applied understanding of AI concepts

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word, managing email and calendars in Outlook, and building presentations in PowerPoint.

  • Experience communicating technical issues or access-related concerns across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in academic or professional settings.
