About This Role

We're seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our toddler team at our ODJFS-licensed child care center. As a child care staff member, you'll be responsible for providing daily care and supervision to children aged 18 months to 36 months. While previous experience is a plus, we're willing to train the right candidate who shares a passion for working with children and is eager to learn about child development.


What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing required professional development through ODJFS, including orientation and health/safety trainings, to ensure you're equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Staying up-to-date on licensing rules and regulations, as well as our company policies, to provide a safe and compliant environment for our children.
  • Providing active supervision at all times, including during playtime, mealtime, naptime, and outdoor activities, to ensure the children's well-being and safety.
  • Being willing and able to change diapers and assist with toileting, as needed.
  • Implementing developmentally appropriate activities and being able to think and adapt quickly to the children's needs.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, including organizing classroom materials and adhering to a cleaning schedule or checklist.
  • Fostering a professional relationship with enrolled families and coworkers through excellent communication and teamwork.

Requirements
  • Must be able to pass an FBI/BCI background check as required by ODJFS.
  • Must be able to provide an Employee Medical Statement as required by ODJFS (will be discussed in an interview).
  • Must be age 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent, or meet the requirements of a high school junior or senior enrolled in a career tech program for Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
  • Must be dependable with good attendance.

Nice To Haves
  • References available for contact regarding work ethic and attendance.
  • Current Child Abuse & Neglect, Communicable Disease training.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Training (Infants, Adolescents, Adult).
  • CDA, AAS, or BA in Child Development and/or Early Childhood Education.
  • Previous experience in a licensed child care center.
