) Activity Aide - Join Our Thriving Community at Newark Rehabilitation!
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Aide to join our team at Newark Rehabilitation in Newark, Ohio. As an Activity Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by creating engaging and meaningful experiences.
About the Role:
As an Activity Aide at Newark Rehabilitation, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of activities designed to promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being among our residents. This may include leading group activities, one-on-one interactions, and encouraging participation in resident-led events. You will work closely with our nursing staff, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure that our residents receive holistic care that addresses their unique needs and goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute activities designed to promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being among residents
  • Lead group activities, such as exercise classes, crafts, and games
  • Facilitate one-on-one interactions between residents and staff
  • Encourage resident participation in resident-led events and activities
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and other team members to ensure residents receive comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity schedules
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and community partners

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (or currently pursuing)
  • Previous experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities (preferable but not required)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation to and from work (if required)
