Job description

We are seeking a part-time Msic Instructor at our Afterschool Program.
What You'll Do:
  • Use your passion and creativity to teach youth various musical instruments and vocal techniques
  • Educate and instruct youth ages 8–18 in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment
  • Develop music lesson plans and curriculum
  • Lead rehearsals and coordinate musical performances
  • Teach music theory concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre, form, texture, and dynamics
  • Foster creativity, confidence, teamwork, and self-expression through music
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. during the school year amp; 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. during Summer months
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Music preferred, or specialized music training
  • Knowledge of various musical instruments including piano, percussion, vocals, guitar, and steel drums
  • Strong understanding of music theory including rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre, form, texture, and dynamics
  • Experience teaching music, leading rehearsals, and working with youth required
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
