As a Technician Development Academy Intern Trainee in Heavy Equipment, you'll train hands-on with the best in the business-servicing the powerful equipment that keeps America moving.

Program Highlights:
  • Eight-month program combining instructor-led classroom, lab, and shop experience.
  • Program alternates weekly between one of our Ohio Cat training facilities (Cleveland or Columbus) and your home shop.
  • ~640 hours of hands-on training on Caterpillar heavy equipment.

What You'll Do:
  • Learn to service and repair Caterpillar heavy equipment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a passion for hands-on work.

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling
  • Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines
  • Dexterity Normal
  • Repetitive Motions: Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
