Full Stack React Web Developer

SIX12 Creative is looking for an intermediate full stack web developer with a keen interest in Next.js. We are a full service marketing agency that designs and builds promotional websites from start to finish, aimed at driving foot traffic to brick and mortar retail locations across North America.

Less than half our projects are on the “cookie cutter” side, and we’re constantly innovating through SMS messaging, customer reward programs, and 2D and 3D web games. So there's a fair bit of variety in what we do!

Team fit is critical. For over 30 years, we’ve been a small, quirky family with low turnover. We’re also a highly collaborative team using Agile project methodology, so you'll have the opportunity to present your recommendations throughout the development process.

Wondering if you’re qualified? You should have most, if not all, of these basics:

• You have 2 years of full stack web development experience using React in a commercial setting. That being said, if you’re really good, feel free to convince us you're the right fit for the team.
• You have experience in Next.js or a similar React server-side rendering framework
• You write clean, readable code
• You are confident enough to adapt an existing codebase to build new websites and learn as you go
• You've had some bad experiences with merge conflicts, SSL/Nginx configs, and complex Postgres queries
• You have a reasonable handle on estimating projects
• You can translate between developer and business speak, written and verbal
• You bounce your solutions off other team members before implementing them
• You don't rewrite everyone else’s code because it wasn't done your way
• You enjoy presenting new technologies, tools, and experimental features that could improve internal development workflows

Additional skills that are nice to have:

• You can build robust and secure REST API endpoints
• You have an interest in game development
• You have built and deployed multi-container Docker apps
• You have an eye for good UI/UX
• You have a good understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and page speed optimization

This is an intermediate position with compensation that fits your experience. Most applicants should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. That being said, if you’re really good, feel free to convince us you're the right fit for the team.
