Position Overview 

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall hygiene throughout kitchen and back-of-house areas in support of all food and beverage operations. This role ensures that all equipment, utensils, and workspaces meet the high standards expected in a Five-Star luxury hotel environment and plays a critical role in supporting culinary and service teams. 

What You'll Do 

Dishwashing & Cleaning Operations 

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils. 
• Ensure all kitchen equipment and tools are clean, functional, and properly stored. 
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, drains, sinks, and work surfaces. 
• Dispose of waste in accordance with hotel policies and environmental guidelines. 

Kitchen & Back-of-House Support 

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic prep work when required. 
• Maintain proper inventory of cleaning chemicals, detergents, and supplies. 
• Set up and clean kitchen stations before and after service periods. 
• Ensure all trays, tools, and equipment are ready for service. 

Hygiene, Safety & Compliance 

• Follow HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards at all times. 
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly. 
• Identify and report hazards, malfunctioning equipment, or maintenance issues. 
• Comply with all hotel occupational health and safety standards. 

Teamwork & Operational Support 

• Work closely with kitchen, food & beverage, and housekeeping teams to support smooth operations. 
• Assist with proper storage, rotation, and handling of supplies. 
• Support banquets, special events, and high-volume service periods as needed. 

What You'll Bring 

Required Education & Experience 

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

Preferred Education & Experience 

• Prior experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment preferred. 

Required Skills and Abilities 

• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, kitchen equipment, and hygiene standards. 
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. 
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items. 
• Team-oriented mindset with willingness to follow instructions and standards. 
• Awareness of health, hygiene, and safety regulations. 

Licenses or Certificates 

• Food Handler Certification required.
