Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced
SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA) to manage, optimize, and support enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server administration, database performance tuning, T-SQL optimization, high availability solutions, and troubleshooting. Experience working closely with application development teams in enterprise environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and optimize T-SQL queries for improved database performance.
- Review execution plans and leverage Query Store to identify and enforce optimal execution plans.
- Perform index maintenance, including statistics updates and index rebuilds.
- Design and manage table and index partitioning strategies.
- Investigate database blocking, deadlocks, and perform impact analysis.
- Optimize stored procedures and ad-hoc SQL queries based on execution patterns and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with application development teams to improve database efficiency and application performance.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2017/2019/2022).
- Apply cumulative updates (CUs), patches, and service packs.
- Manage database storage, capacity planning, and volume space utilization.
- Monitor database health, performance, availability, and scalability.
- Administer SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and Replication.
- Monitor CPU, memory, disk utilization, and TempDB performance.
- Manage database security, user roles, permissions, and access controls.
- Administer SQL Server Agent jobs and SSIS packages.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues and implement proactive solutions.
Required Skills- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server Administration (2016/2017/2019/2022).
- Expertise in T-SQL query tuning and performance optimization.
- Experience analyzing execution plans and using Query Store.
- Knowledge of index optimization, statistics maintenance, and partitioning.
- Experience with Always On Availability Groups and SQL Server Replication.
- Strong understanding of database performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing SQL Server Agent Jobs and SSIS.
- Knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery best practices.
- Experience working in application development environments.
Preferred Skills- Operational knowledge of:
- SolarWinds
- SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer (DPA)
- Dynatrace (API and database call tracing)
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise database environments.
