ABOUT THE ROLE

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting day-to-day human resources operations. This position is responsible for administering HR policies, procedures, and programs while providing support in areas such as employee relations, recruitment, benefits, performance management, compliance, and training.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL DO

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding by coordinating orientation, setting up accounts, and managing required documentation.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and provide guidance on enrollment, eligibility, and changes.
  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Manage employee relations matters, ensuring timely resolution while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HRIS data integrity.
  • Partner with managers on performance management, including goal setting, coaching, evaluations, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate training and development programs to support employee growth and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support payroll processing and HR initiatives, including employee data updates, engagement efforts, and continuous improvement projects.

WHO WEโ€™RE LOOKING FOR

Weโ€™re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who builds trust at all levels, handles sensitive matters with discretion, and effectively balances multiple priorities. They are adaptable, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with a focus on problem-solving and supporting a positive workplace culture.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Two(2) to Four(4)years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably in a generalist capacity.
  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent). Preferred
  • Experience supporting HR in manufacturing, construction, or a related industry. Union experiences a plus.
  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility.
  • Excellent organizational and critical-thinking skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Possession of a valid driverโ€™s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
