Job description

Associate Wealth Advisor – Independent Wealth Management Firm

Location: Dayton, Ohio (On-site)

Work Environment: Full-time | On-site

Our client is a growing independent wealth management firm in Dayton, Ohio—and we’re hiring an Associate Wealth Advisor to join their team.

They’re a relationship-first, veteran-founded RIA with a clear mission: help good people make great decisions so they can enjoy an amazing retirement. If you’ve got a foundation in financial services and you’re hungry to grow into a full advisory role, we want to talk.

Why This Role?

  • Structured path from Associate Advisor-in-Training to full Advisor—with clear milestones and comp tied to your progress
  • Work directly alongside experienced advisors and firm leadership in a collaborative, high-energy environment
  • Serve meaningful client relationships—this is a relationship-driven role, not a transactional one
  • Join a culture that closes the office at noon on Fridays and actually means it
  • Get in at a high-growth moment with a firm that is locally owned, independent, and built for the long haul

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a lead advisor for existing client relationships, delivering exceptional service at every touchpoint
  • Conduct client progress reviews via in-person meetings, Zoom, and phone calls
  • Assist clients with retirement income planning and holistic financial strategies
  • Build trust and long-term relationships with both current and prospective clients
  • Participate in educational workshops, events, and lead generation opportunities
  • Connect with prospective clients through digital lead channels and referrals
  • Complete all meeting preparation and follow-up to ensure a seamless client experience
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within CRM systems
  • Collaborate across operations, client experience, and leadership teams
  • Participate in weekly pipeline and strategy meetings

What You Bring

  • Experience in financial services, advising, sales, or relationship management
  • Active Ohio Life & Health Insurance License required; Series 65 or 66 required
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills—you can simplify complex concepts for clients
  • High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and a genuine passion for client service
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong personal accountability and detail orientation
  • Coachable, growth-minded, and quick on the uptake
  • Comfortable balancing structure with flexibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Compensation

This role offers a transparent, milestone-based compensation structure designed to reward your growth:

Base Salary

  • Starting base: $40,000/year, paid on the 15th and 30th of each month
  • Upon obtaining your Ohio Life & Health, Series 7, and Series 66 licenses: base increases to $50,000/year
  • Upon earning your CFP designation: base increases to $55,000/year

Bonus Incentive Program (BIP) – While in Associate Advisor-in-Training Role

  • Participation in the team BIP based on new assets gathered each quarter
  • Divided among all non-advisor full-time team members; calculated after each quarter-end
  • Historically averages $5,000–$8,000 annually
  • Formula is open source and available for teammates to review

Advisor Bonus Compensation (ABC) – Upon Transition to Associate Advisor Role

  • $3,000 per $1 million in new assets placed (assets the firm earns revenue from)
  • Example: $10M in new assets in a year = $30,000 in additional compensation
  • Calculated shortly after each quarter and advanced to you
  • Investment-agnostic—you act in the best interest of the client

What We Offer

  • 401(k)/Roth 401(k) with company match
  • Health insurance with nearly 100% of premiums covered by the firm
  • Firm contributions to HSA
  • Generous PTO schedule
  • Short-term disability coverage
  • Monthly cell phone and gym reimbursement
  • Professional and personal development opportunities
  • Team lunches, events, and incentive trips
  • Friday office close at noon

Sound like you?

This isn’t a rigid corporate environment—it’s a place where talented people are trusted, supported, and empowered to grow. If you’re humble, hungry, emotionally intelligent, and ready to build something meaningful alongside a team that genuinely cares, let’s talk.
