Position Summary


Are you a sharp, proactive network tech who thrives in a dynamic environment? WAVSYS is looking for a NOC Technician / Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be the first line of defense in monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing network health across multiple client portfolios—including high-profile accounts.


You will combine traditional 24/7/365 NOC monitoring with active project support, ensuring rapid incident resolution, smooth client communication, and successful project delivery. If you are a cool-headed problem solver ready to tackle diverse networking environments, we want to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities

  • Proactive Monitoring: Keep a vigilant eye on network health and performance across multiple client environments using various Network Management Systems (NMS).
  • Incident Management: Promptly log, triage, and manage problem tickets from inception to resolution, ensuring strict adherence to SLAs.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Perform initial diagnostics and basic remediation (Layer 1/Layer 2 troubleshooting, configuration checks, and status verification).
  • Incident Communication: Act as the central point of contact, providing clear, timely updates to internal stakeholders and enterprise customers during network outages.
  • Escalation & Collaboration: Coordinate with field technicians for on-site fixes and smoothly escalate complex, high-tier issues to Tier II/III network engineers.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Meticulously document all actions, change requests, and resolutions within company and client ticketing tools.


Qualifications & Skills (What You Need)

  • Experience/Education: A degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus, but equivalent, hands-on industry experience is highly valued.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of core networking concepts, including the OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Hardware Familiarity: Hands-on familiarity or conceptual knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Understanding of fiber, copper, and wireless transport technologies. Bonus points if you have experience with Ericsson and/or microwave technology!
  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCST, or CCNA are highly desirable but not dealbreakers if you have the practical skills to back it up.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to stay calm, focused, and analytical under pressure.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • The Schedule: Because network reliability never sleeps, this position requires total schedule flexibility. You must be able to work any assigned shift—including nights & weekends as needed, to support our 24/7/365 operations.
  • The Setting: This is a 100% remote position. You must have a reliable, high-speed internet connection and a dedicated quiet workspace. The role involves extended periods of monitoring multiple screens and multitasking between ticketing systems and communication channels.
