    Job description

    Description

Business Solutions Analyst Des Moines, IA | Hybrid Options Available | Full-Time

We're looking for a Business Solutions Analyst to join our enterprise IT division and act as a trusted partner and internal consultant to our business units across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and construction services.

This role sits right at the intersection of business and technology. You'll serve as the vital link between the two — identifying opportunities, shaping product-oriented solutions, and driving measurable business value. Reporting through IT with dotted-line accountability to one of Waldinger's four business units — Construction, Services, Manufacturing, or Shared Services — you'll stay closely aligned with both enterprise technology strategy and the unique needs of the business you support. If you love using product thinking, agile/lean practices, and modern tools to solve real business problems, this is your seat at the table.

    What You'll Own

    • Stakeholder Partnership: Identify and analyze business challenges, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
    • Process Mapping: Document current and future-state processes through workflows and user journeys.
    • Solution Design: Turn business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and decision-ready options for IT and vendors.
    • Business Case Development: Connect improvement opportunities to measurable KPIs like cost, risk, productivity, and satisfaction.
    • Cross-Functional Delivery: Collaborate with teams to design and deliver outcome-driven solutions.
    • Backlog & Prioritization: Evaluate initiatives by weighing value, risk, effort, and strategic alignment.
    • Facilitation: Run workshops and discovery sessions to align business and IT around shared goals.
    • Change Management: Support adoption efforts when new solutions roll out.

    What You Bring

    • Proven experience in business analysis, product ownership, or process improvement, with a track record of delivering real improvements
    • Strong workshop facilitation, interviewing, and requirements-documentation skills
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations Management, or equivalent experience
    • 3–7 years in business analysis, product ownership/analysis, consulting, or process improvement
    • Familiarity with tools like Visio, Lucidchart, Confluence, or Jira
    • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Lean practices, comfortable operating within a scrum team
    • Comfort using AI and automation tools to boost speed and quality of work
    • Excellent communication skills and a knack for simplifying complex information

    What You Get

    • A high-impact, visible role shaping how Waldinger uses process, technology, product thinking, and AI-forward ways of working
    • The ability to work across multiple business units, acting as a consultant, facilitator, and problem-solver
    • A collaborative environment where your input directly drives productivity gains, better decision-making, and measurable business value
    • Paid holidays
    • Health, dental and vision insurance
    • Growth potential with a stable company
    • Paid vacation
    • Health club reimbursement
    • Wellness plan with lifestyle spending account
    • 401(k) with company match and profit-sharing
    • Continuing education and advancement opportunities
    • Tuition reimbursement
    • Term, AD&D and Dependent Life insurances
    • Prepaid Legal
