Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

Ready to shape tomorrow's society with us?

Volvo Financial Services (VFS) provides competitive financial solutions that help Volvo Group dealers and customers succeed. As an intern supporting both our Payment Solutions, you will gain hands-on experience in financial operations, product support, and project execution. If you're curious, analytical, and excited to learn how financing supports the heavy equipment and transportation industries, this role is for you.

This is us, your new colleagues

VFS is committed to providing competitive financial services for Volvo Group dealers, and through their dealerships to customers, for their acquisition and use of Volvo Group products and services. This collaborative approach brings to life the concept of one-stop shopping for customers. During the customer transaction lifecycle, this collaboration enables the Group to offer additional products and services after the customer's purchase, which further builds our relationship with the customer and increases Volvo Group sales. When times are tough, customers and dealers can trust that VFS and the Volvo Group remain dedicated to supporting their business.

At VFS we actively work to establish teams that maximize the strength inherent in differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender, nationality, and all other dimensions of diversity. We believe that balanced working teams increase our capacity for creativity, enabling us to find new and innovative approaches to solutions.

As an intern, you'll work closely with operations teams, business analysts, and managers across multiple departments, gaining insight into how financing, payments, and customer support all come together to create exceptional customer experiences.

The role is located in Greensboro, NC and reports to the Manager, Payment Solutions.

This is how you make an impact

Payment Solutions Operations & Project Work

    • Participate in Payment Solutions projects related to new service offerings, system updates, communications, or operational enhancements.
    • Support day-to-day payment operations such as monitoring payment exceptions, reviewing failed customer payments, and helping document resolution steps.
    • Assist with compiling and preparing billing files, reconciliation support, and data needed for operational reporting.
    • Help investigate payment issues and coordinate with team members on next steps.
    • Support operational process improvements by testing new tools, documenting procedures, and gathering feedback from internal stakeholders.

    Cross-Team Collaboration & Learning

    • Work with sales teams, dealers, customer support groups, and other VFS departments to understand how financing supports customers across the Volvo Group.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
    • Develop foundational skills in payment workflows, integration concepts, initial financial analysis, and project management.
    Who are you?
    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
    • Strong interest in financial operations, or payment systems.
    • Comfort with data, BI tools, spreadsheets, and learning new systems
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with guidance.
    • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with a variety of teams.
    • A proactive learner who is curious, adaptable, and open to feedback.

    What You Will Gain

    • Hands-on experience in credit operations, payments project management, and financial systems.
    • Exposure to the aftermarket ecosystem of the heavy equipment and transportation industry.
    • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization with cross-functional teammates.
    • Professional development in analytical thinking, process improvement, and business communication.
