Job description

Overview
This position is primarily responsible for the repair and maintenance of facility equipment at a grain elevator.
Responsibilities
  • Use hand and power tools to repair or replace faulty equipment parts and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently.
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Use tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, forklifts, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
  • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to perform repairs and fabrication.
  • Thoroughly understands all facets of Viserion's safety programs and culture, with strong working knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Consistently demonstrates safe working practices and promptly communicates safety alarms to operations.
  • Responsible for properly and accurately recording all applicable documentation.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Associates, Technical or Mechanical Degree desired.
  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience.

Skills
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment.
  • Ability to work in a quality-controlled environment.
  • Welding and light fabrication preferred.
  • Agriculture and/or grain elevator experience preferred.

Physical Requirments
  • Regularly walk, bend and stoop.
  • Regularly required to walk on catwalks at a variety of heights; up to 200 feet with appropriate safety equipment.
  • Regularly climb stairs and ladders.
  • Regularly lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Regularly enter and works in confined spaces.
