    • Mentor and develop junior staff, including coaching of field procedures, task and budget management, and promotion of a positive client experience.
    • Represent VHB through participation in professional organizations, conferences, and community engagement.
    • Stay current with regulations, emerging contaminants, evolving technologies, and industry trends.

    Skills and Attributes

    • Excellent communication skills, including exceptional writing and the ability to review technical documents with attention to detail.
    • Innovative spirit and a growth mindset-eager to build new client relationships and expand our visibility in the region.
    • Strong team leadership, adaptability, collaborative problem-solving and an ability to support the career development of junior staff.
    • Field and office experience (role is primarily office-based, with occasional field oversight).
    • Experience with natural resources, wetlands delineation, and environmental permitting is a plus.
    • Brownfield investigation and remediation experience a plus.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or a related field (Master's a plus).
    • 5-8+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting and site remediation.
    • Demonstrated experience preparing and managing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Preliminary Assessments (PAs) is required.
    • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and current 8-hour refresher certification required.
    • PE, PG or LEP licensure preferred
    • On track to obtain LSRP when eligible, preferred
    • In-depth knowledge of NJDEP regulations and environmental due diligence requirements.
