Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for performing designated duties in the Paint and Patch department following VFP guidelines to create an acceptable and superior exterior finish.

Essential Job Functions

  • Grind columns, roofs, and floors to a smooth surface to prepare for mud and paint.
  • Spray toner on buildings.
  • Mud columns, roofs, and floors to VFP specifications.
  • Paint columns, roofs, and windows.
  • Level floors around weld plates.
  • Repair cracks and chips using mud and/or rock patch, depending upon severity of crack.
  • Patch broken floors, columns, and roofs, retouching with toner and paint once repair is made.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices with emphasis on safety regulations.
  • Perform other tasks as required by supervisor / manager.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) desired.
  •  Minimum of six (6) months’ paint experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to apply commons sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to solve problems in a variety of situations.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
