Job description

Value Vet Virginia is seeking LVT's and experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our team!! Our mission is to provide responsible, safe and easily accessible care to clients and their pets at an affordable price. We are seeking assistance in Surgery and Telemedicine appointments. We have elevated the traditional virtual care set-up with a twist: Clients bring their pets to our locations for their virtual appointment. LVT's and veterinary assistants are an integral part of these visits, collecting vitals, filling medications and collecting samples. Some examples of telemedicine appointments we see:
  • Surgery consultations
  • Visits for prescriptions
  • Labwork collection/follow-up
  • Outpatient, non-urgent visits

Responsibilities:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to assist DVM in a virtual assessment
  • Ability to induce, monitor and recover surgical patients
  • Strong technical skills (sample collection, TPR, veterinary pharmacology knowledge)
  • Knowledge of Stringsoft software a plus, though not required

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of virtual-care best practices
  • License to practice as a veterinary technician in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or relevant experience
