Production Operator


Position Overview

US Modules is seeking a Production Operator to support day-to-day operations within its solar module manufacturing facility in College Station, TX. This role is responsible for operating production equipment and performing assembly tasks across solar module manufacturing processes while ensuring safety, quality, traceability, and productivity targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

  • Operate manufacturing equipment and production tools per standard work and work instructions.
  • Perform production tasks across solar module manufacturing processes (as assigned), including material loading/unloading and assembly steps.
  • Support line start-up, shutdown, and changeovers to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor process conditions and equipment status to maintain stable operation and production flow.
  • Meet takt time, throughput, and productivity requirements.
  • Perform in-process quality checks per control plans and work instructions.
  • Verify correct materials, part numbers, and lot numbers prior to use.
  • Maintain product and material traceability using barcode scanning, travelers, or production systems.
  • Identify, contain, and escalate defects or abnormal conditions to leads, supervisors, and quality.
  • Record production output, scrap, rework, and quality checks accurately.
  • Follow all US Modules safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Follow LOTO, machine guarding, and hazard communication requirements as trained.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and equipment issues immediately.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, leads, maintenance, and quality personnel.
  • Participate in shift handoffs, daily production meetings, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support training and cross-training across multiple production stations.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Experience in solar module, electronics, semiconductor, or high-volume manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience operating automated production equipment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts (5S, standard work, waste reduction).
  • Experience using barcode scanners, travelers, or MES systems.

Quality & Traceability

  • Perform in-process quality checks per control plans and work instructions.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role in a manufacturing environment. The position requires working around automated equipment, moving parts, and production processes. PPE is required.

Work Schedule

Full-time. 12-hour shifts available for both day shift and night shift. Overtime may be required based on production needs.
