Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Outpatient (PERMANENT)
Location: Artesia, NM
Salary Range: $52,000 $72,000

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient rehabilitation team in Artesia, NM. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide high-quality care in accordance with New Mexico state regulations and the therapist assistant's scope of practice. The role includes delivering individualized therapy treatments focused on functional mobility, strength, balance, and overall physical wellness for patients across the lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver skilled therapy services including ambulation training, wound care, strength and balance interventions, and motor function improvement.

  • Implement treatment plans developed by a licensed physical therapist and update progress notes regularly.

  • Educate patients and their families/caregivers to promote independence and understanding of care plans.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support comprehensive patient care.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with APTA standards and billing requirements.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and continuing education.

  • Assist with community outreach and marketing of physical therapy services.

Additional Information:
  • May be required to work occasional weekends.

  • Must be comfortable managing a diverse caseload that may include pediatric through geriatric patients.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate of a nationally-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Experience:

  • 1+ year of outpatient experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Eligible for licensure with the New Mexico State Physical Therapy Board.

  • Current BLS certification (required before start date).

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Basic computer literacy for documentation and scheduling.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a dynamic outpatient setting.
