At Unity Hospice, we believe no one should have to navigate grief alone. As the leader in end-of-life care, we are committed to providing compassionate support long after a loved one's passing. We are seeking a dedicated Grief Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals and families through one of life's most difficult journeys.

Our team is guided by our core values of Excellence, Collaboration, Integrity, Compassion, and Accountability, and we're looking for someone who shares our commitment to providing exceptional care and support to the communities we serve.

What you'll do:

You will play an important role in helping individuals of all ages process grief while connecting them with meaningful resources and support.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible daytime hours within the hours of 7:00 am - 5:00 pm working 40 hours per week, with occasional evening availability (approximately 2–4 hours per month) to facilitate grief support groups or meet with clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide individual grief counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
  • Develop and document individualized bereavement plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Facilitate grief support groups and maintain program documentation.
  • Assess client needs and connect individuals with appropriate community resources.
  • Educate families, community organizations, schools, and workplaces on topics related to grief, loss, and bereavement.
  • Participate in memorial services and other Grief Services events.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in accordance with department standards.
  • Collaborate with Unity Hospice staff to ensure compassionate, coordinated care.
  • Comply with all applicable policies, regulations, and required training.

Skills for success:

  • Strong counseling and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to build trusting, compassionate relationships with clients of all ages.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Comfortable speaking to community groups and providing educational presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs while providing exceptional client care.

Why Unity?

Working at Unity Hospice is more than a job - it's a calling. Every day, our team has the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, families, and our community. If you're looking for a career where compassion meets purpose, we'd love to hear from you.

Join a team that's committed to providing comfort, hope, and healing when it matters most.
