Our client is seeking a Property Accountant. This is a temporary or temp-to-permanent opportunity, with the potential to transition into a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of property-level accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to quickly learn new processes and work independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage property-level accounting activities for multifamily real estate investments
• Review and analyze financial statements and reporting from third-party property managers
• Perform account reconciliations, reclasses, and other accounting adjustments
• Review and validate trial balances and input information
• Support quarterly fair value financial reporting
• Work closely with third-party property managers and internal investment teams
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities
• Ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and properly recorded
• Take ownership of assignments and quickly learn new processes and systems

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate
• Property-level accounting experience required
• Multifamily real estate experience preferred
• Commercial or industrial real estate accounting experience will also be considered
• Experience working with third-party property managers preferred
• MRI experience required
• Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
