Job description

The Quality Control Specialist serves as a crucial member of the Quality Assurance team, functioning as a stand-alone role reporting to the Production Manager within the Operations division. This specialist is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality for windows, doors, glass, frames, screens, and hardware, verifying that all products meet customer specifications and industry standards before being shipped.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect windows, doors, glass, frames, screens, and hardware for defects and quality compliance
  • Check products for scratches, cracks, dents, damage, or missing parts
  • Ensure products match work orders and customer specifications, including sizes, glass type, color, grids, locks, and other options
  • Test windows and doors to confirm proper operation of opening, closing, and locking mechanisms
  • Complete final inspections before products are sent to Shipping
  • Place defective products on hold and report quality problems to the appropriate team
  • Maintain thorough documentation and reporting of inspections and quality issues
  • Recommend and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency
