Summary: The CMM Operator is responsible for running a coordinate measuring machine during a production process. CMM operators essentially turn measurements and instructions into models and often use the machinery as an inspection tool, checking for accuracy during and after production.
This position is located in Alda, NE. Relocation package available.
Essential Job Duties/Functions:
- Maintain the coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
- Test and calibrate equipment
- Precisely measure and program CMM for measurement reports
- Read blueprints and renderings
- Perform layouts to GD&T
- Write or edit programming for new projects
- Perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions
- Understand the acceptance/rejection criteria in accordance with customer specifications
- Mount and install tools, attachments and fixtures
- Perform in-process and final inspections
- Document and communicate production issues
- Keep a record of inventory
- Follow safety protocols
Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):
- At least an Associate's degree in quality engineering or a related field is required.
- A bachelor's degree in quality, mechanical or industrial engineering is preferred.
- M COSMOS experience required.
