Occupational Therapist Assistant

for its

Palace Nursing Home & Rehab Center
 

11215 SW 84th Street Miami, FL 33173

The #1 Priority of this position is…

To perform selected treatments under the general supervision of the Supervising or Staff Occupational Therapist or director or designee and be responsible for the overall direction, utilization, supervision, performance and evaluation of supportive staff, volunteers and students working in the department/facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare equipment for residents’ treatments.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in carrying out the selected program and procedures according to the Occupational Therapists directions, by checking patient and equipment during treatment for comfort and safety and assist in patient care in the department.
  • Communicate with the resident’s physician and other healthcare professionals as necessary regarding the resident’s progress, treatments, etc., in consultation with the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy with one year of experience required, under the supervision of a licensed Certified Occupational Therapist.
  • Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the State of Florida.
  • Candidate must possess good communication skills.
  • Basic math skills required.

  • Responsible, always on time, resourceful, very accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Flexible as to work schedule. Must be available to work on weekends, holidays & in emergencies
  • Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task. 
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently AND as a team member.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills in English. Spanish preferred.
