    Job description

    The Sr. Fire Protection Consultant provides advanced fire protection consultation services, technical leadership, and high-level deliverables for Telgian clients as part of a multi-discipline team. Serves as a subject matter expert, offering guidance on complex fire protection challenges, interpreting and applying fire-related codes and standards, and leading the development and review of detailed reports, engineered designs, and project packages. Plays a key role in mentoring junior team members, supporting project management activities, and representing Telgian in client and authority meetings. Your expertise will help shape innovative, compliant, and practical fire protection solutions across a wide range of occupancies and industries.


    Role and Responsibilities

    • Lead the establishment of design criteria for complex fire alarms, suppression and/or life safety systems based on client’s operational and regulatory compliance needs
    • Perform high-level review and analysis of existing fire protection systems; develop detailed recommendations for upgrades, remediation, and performance improvements
    • Develop and deliver reports to clients on recommended updates to ensure compliance and /or operational functionality of fire, suppression and/or life safety systems
    • Serve as a senior liaison with AHJs and client stakeholders as needed to resolve compliance questions around client fire, suppression and/or life safety systems
    • Identify and/or establish design criteria for specific systems applications; may include specific UL/FM test criteria and performance-based tests as required
    • Provide technical oversight, quality assurance, and guidance to junior consultants and project teams
    • Apply standard techniques,principlesand criteria to perform assigned tasks.
    • Maintain and share expert-level knowledge of relevant fire protection, risk, building codes and constructions technologies; identify trends and recommends proactive solutions to meet/exceed requirements
    • Support project management activities, including scope development, schedule oversight, and client communication
    • Contribute to internal process improvements, training development, and best-practice initiatives


    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    At Telgian, we are looking for high performing associates to help drive Telgian’s mission to save lives and property in partnership with our customers. To achieve this, you will bring the following qualifications to the table:

    • 5 years of field engineering/consulting experience in fire protection and/or architecture is preferred
    • CFPS or NICET certification is preferred
    • Ability to travel 50-75%
    • Ability to safely lift upto 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work on lifts as required for site surveys and field evaluations
    • Advanced working knowledge of Fire, Life Safety and Building Codes, NFPA Standards, and UL/FM Standards
    • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and manage multiple stakeholders
    • Ability to evaluate, select and apply standard techniques and procedures and criteria to perform a task
    • Ability to apply broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific area of practice
    • High proficiency with MS Office software
    • Strong verbal, written, and client-facing communication skills, including presentation experience
    • Experience mentoring or coaching junior team members
