Position:        Electro-Mechanical Assembler
Location:       Colorado Springs, CO 80919
Duration:      12 Months 
Job Type:      Temporary Assignment 
Work Type:   Onsite 
Shift:              Flexible schedule – 4 days per week, and 10 hours per day

Summary

Assemblers will maintain manufacturing processes to support production safety, delivery, cost, and quality goals. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented, safety-conscious individual who can operate complex test equipment, perform part counts, and support efficient manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on production role involving both large equipment assembly and fine detailed electro-mechanical assembly work using hand tools. Assemblers will perform a broad range of skilled mechanical and electronic assembly operations in a manufacturing environment while following assembly drawings, quality standards, and 5S practices.
 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain manufacturing processes to support safety, delivery, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Manufacture electro-mechanical assemblies using assembly drawings, documentation, and procedures.
  • Inspect in-process products to ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.
  • Apply 5S principles and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Use lean manufacturing practices to reduce bottlenecks, eliminate waste, and improve cycle time.
  • Assemble electronic and mechanical components, including work performed under a microscope for complex assemblies.
  • Operate complex test equipment and perform part counts as required.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Document non-conformances and support corrective actions.
  • Process cycle counts and assist with inventory problem resolution.
  • Pick inventory parts to support manufacturing and customer requirements.
  • Assist with packaging large instruments in shipping crates.
  • Work in a clean room environment.
  • Write engineering change requests (ECRs) to address production, documentation, or design issues.
  • Perform other assigned production and assembly activities.

Required Skills

  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly and interpreting assembly drawings and work instructions.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform a wide range of skilled assembly operations.
  • Experience using common hand tools and electronic assembly tools safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to perform fine detailed assembly work, including work under a microscope.
  • Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Basic understanding of quality inspection and non-conformance documentation.
  • Ability to support inventory, cycle counting, and material handling activities.
  • Comfortable working in a clean room environment.
  • Good written communication skills for documentation and engineering change requests.
