Job Summary:
Technology Partners is currently seeking a talented Senior Data Architect. In this role, you will own the target-state architecture for the engagement and collaborate closely with leadership to develop strategies for data management and governance in cloud-native environments.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and review target-state architecture, including dev/prod environment separation within AWS GovCloud.
• Design and validate a tag-driven RBAC model across multiple layers, sites, and OpCos using Redshift roles and catalog tags.
• Consolidate and organize Matillion projects, shared components, naming conventions, and folder structures to optimize job management across the enterprise.
• Architect CDC strategies leveraging SQL Server native CDC capabilities and implement fallbacks for non-native environments, enabling configurable switches.
• Evaluate and recommend catalog and metadata management solutions such as AWS Glue Data Catalog, Redshift-native metadata, or open-source options.
• Review and approve implementation patterns for Qlik-to-Matillion migration, auto-cancellation watchdogs, and other critical automation components.
• Lead governance discussions and co-author key standards, including access matrices, naming conventions, and data classifications.
• Participate actively in stakeholder engagement, translating complex architecture decisions into plain language and defending choices when challenged.
• Produce comprehensive documentation and reference artifacts required for project alignment and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years in data architecture roles with at least 5+ years designing cloud-native data platforms, especially enterprise data warehouses.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS data services such as Redshift (including ra3 node types, workload management, and materialized views), S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and KMS.
• Strong background in Matillion architecture and project structure design for multi-source, enterprise environments.
• Proven expertise in designing fine-grained Redshift RBAC models, including row-level security and dynamic masking using tags or attributes.
• Practical CDC architecture experience with SQL Server native CDC, including operational management, log retention, and downstream processing.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or CloudFormation, with the ability to review and intervene in IaC scripts.
• Depth in data modeling methodologies such as dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or similar approaches.
• Experience designing solutions for regulated environments, including FedRAMP, HIPAA, NIST SP 800-171, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Strong communication skills, with ability to facilitate governance forums, document decisions, and justify architecture choices clearly.
• Ability to work independently as a senior technical voice within a small, focused delivery team.
Preferred:
• Prior experience with aerospace, defense, or other ITAR-regulated clients.
• Hands-on delivery experience with AWS GovCloud (US Gov East or West).
• Consulting background at a Big 4 or top-tier boutique data practice, familiar with milestone-driven client engagements.
• Active AWS Certifications such as Solutions Architect Professional, Data Analytics Specialty.
• Relevant Matillion certifications (Associate or Professional).
• Experience working in multi-site, multi-source manufacturing or operational environments requiring strict access segregation.
