Business Development Representative – Commercial Electrical & Construction Services (Charlotte, NC)
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour (DOE) + Commission
TEC Electric is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Representative to support the continued growth of our commercial electrical, low voltage, fire alarm, and service divisions.
This position is responsible for developing new customer relationships, identifying project opportunities, and helping expand TEC Electric's presence throughout the commercial construction and service markets. The ideal candidate will have experience within the electrical industry and a proven ability to generate new business through networking, prospecting, and relationship management.
What You'll Be Doing
• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, property managers, facility managers, developers, and commercial customers
• Identify and pursue new commercial electrical, low voltage, fire alarm, and service opportunities throughout TEC Electric's service territory
• Schedule and conduct customer meetings, project walkthroughs, and business development presentations
• Partner with estimating and operations teams to support proposal development, customer solutions, and project pursuits
• Track customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activity through the company's CRM platform
• Represent TEC Electric at networking events, trade associations, industry functions, and customer meetings
• Meet established business development goals through consistent lead generation, relationship building, and opportunity management
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
• 3+ years of business development, outside sales, account management, or commercial sales experience
• Previous experience within the electrical contracting, low voltage, fire alarm, construction, building services, or related electrical industry
• Demonstrated success developing new business and maintaining long-term customer relationships
• Strong communication, presentation, networking, and negotiation skills
• Ability to build relationships with customers at all levels of an organization
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the Charlotte region
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently
