Job description

Name of Employer:Targa Resources LLC
Position Title: I&E Technician III Engineer
Position Location: 3542 FM 17765, Coyanosa, TX 79743
Hours:Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Summary of Duties:
  • Support the design, engineering, customization, and commissioning of Programmable Lobic Controller (PLC) control systems and related systems software for natural gas processing facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain GE PLC (programmable logic controller) system.
  • Troubleshoot computer and communication issues on equipment.
  • Utilize knowledge of instrumentation (transmitters, control valves, meters, etc.).
  • Monitors and recognizes dangerous and/or emergency conditions within the process and performs procedures necessary to remove the condition or shutdown the process/facility in order to protect personnel, community, environment, and equipment.
  • Recognize malfunction in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems.
  • Operates and performs activities in accordance with application regulations and procedures.
  • Utilize proper lockout/tag out operation and safety procedures.
  • Performs other work duties as required; writes repair work requests for routine and major maintenance that cannot be handled as part of the normal operations within MAXIMO (maintenance reporting system).
  • Read, understand, and red line wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Ability to work under DOT, OQ, and PSM regulation.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Education requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic Engineering or closely related field.
Experience requirements:3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Special Skills or Other Requirements:
Must have experience with each of the following:
  1. Experience of P&IDs, electric schematics and technical manuals and data.
  2. Experience with the National Electric Code.
  3. Experience with the 4160V electric systems and motor controls.
  4. Experience with Instrumentation and Automation
