Job Description

The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, eight state agencies, Texas A&M - Fort Worth and the Texas A&M - RELLIS Campus. Salary:

$5,084.33 - $8,333.33 per month commensurate with experience.

Job Description Summary:

IP Contract Administrator will draft, review, negotiate, analyze and maintain legally binding transactional agreements related to intellectual property within The Texas A&M University System (TAMUS), including agreements for technology evaluation, material transfer, confidential non-disclosure agreements, and intellectual property provisions within sponsored research agreements and contracts.


Responsibilities:
-With oversight prepare, review, and negotiate contracts including but not limited to, incoming and outgoing material transfer agreements, non-disclosure agreements, inter-institutional agreements, intellectual property licenses, and intellectual property and licensing provisions within sponsored research agreements, ensuring consistency with TAMUS goals as well as TAMUS policies and legal obligations.

- Provide contract review and drafting support to licensing professionals as requested.

- Assist in the design and implementation of policies and procedures to support review, negotiation, drafting, quality control and compliance for TAMUS agreements to ensure compliance with university policies and federal regulations.

- Assist in the development and maintenance of systems, processes, and tools to track, monitor, and analyze metrics concerning agreement processing and identify trends.

- Work with support staff and computer systems to ensure proper docketing, accurate data collection and management of compliance activities.

- Manage and maintain agreement and negotiation records in the TAMUS agreements database.

- Assemble, manipulate and format agreement documents and reports.

- Participate in development and delivery of faculty education and outreach programs concerning agreement processing and negotiations.

- Collaborate and communicate with faculty, other TAMUS Innovation staff members, TAMUS legal counsel and third-party representatives to progress agreements as necessary.

- Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.

- Interpersonal and communication skills.

- Planning and organizational skills.

- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Graduate degree in life/physical sciences or engineering and/or JD.
- Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating IP-related agreements in academic settings.
