Job description

Data Center Energy Marshal
Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Data Center Energy Marshal for a contract position in West Des Moines, IA. The opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary: Join the Cloud Operations & Innovation team as a Critical Environment Electrical Engineer (Energy Marshal) to play a pivotal role in supporting the infrastructure for online services. As part of the Global Data Center Development Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and compliance of Data Center activities while overseeing the energy isolation program management for MEP energy at assigned locations.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Review documentation and audit the energy program for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations activities.
  • Collaborate with construction and commissioning teams to ensure safe working conditions for testing and validating MEP systems.
  • Identify project risks, develop corrective action plans, manage Non-Conformance Reports, and resolutions.
  • Support change management process and provide technical guidance.
  • Partner with Environmental, Health, and Safety teams to drive operational excellence in hazardous energy control.
  • Act as a single point of accountability for all Energy Isolation activities across projects.
  • Participate in High-Risk Activity planning meetings associated with Energy Isolation.
  • Ensure proper review of PTWs, MS & RAs, approval processes for proposed energy isolation procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Professional Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Process Engineering.
  • 10+ years of construction experience on multi-disciplinary projects; mission critical facility experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical systems operation and maintenance.
  • OSHA 30 certification and NFPA 70E training.
  • Experience with building management systems and automation controls.
  • Familiarity with major regulations, industry codes, construction techniques, and documentation interpretation.
