Senior Security Engineer - Identity & Access Management (IAM)

About the Opportunity

Talent Connection is partnering with a leading enterprise organization seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer specializing in Identity & Access Management (IAM). This individual will play a key role in designing, implementing, and evolving enterprise identity security solutions that protect users, systems, applications, and cloud resources.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both hands-on technical work and long-term strategic planning. You'll collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams to build scalable identity platforms while serving as a technical leader and trusted advisor across the organization.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions.
  • Develop technical standards, security architectures, and IAM best practices aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead IAM initiatives from planning and design through implementation and operational support.
  • Partner with infrastructure, cloud, networking, and application teams to integrate identity security into enterprise systems.
  • Ensure IAM platforms remain highly available, secure, scalable, and resilient.
  • Evaluate emerging IAM technologies and recommend improvements that strengthen security and operational efficiency.
  • Support identity lifecycle management, authentication, authorization, privileged access, and governance initiatives.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex IAM issues and provide Tier III engineering support.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across security and IT teams.
  • Collaborate with technology vendors regarding licensing, upgrades, product enhancements, and support.
  • Participate in architectural reviews and contribute to long-term identity and security roadmaps.
  • Develop project plans, implementation schedules, technical documentation, and effort estimates.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and technology planning related to IAM initiatives.
