TAG Refrigeration is seeking Maintenance Technicians to support service work in the Phoenix, AZ area.
Role Summary
The Maintenance Technician supports the service of commercial supermarket HVAC systems. This role is designed to develop aspiring service technicians by building strong technical fundamentals in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC systems ranging from 1-ton mini-splits up to 30-ton units
  • Complete a full range of maintenance procedures across active HVAC systems
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and learn advanced diagnostics from experienced technicians
  • Perform detailed system maintenance audits and complete required documentation
  • Lead small-scale projects such as roof sweeps and minor retrofits
  • Support both HVAC service and construction teams as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Apprentice-level HVAC experience or foundational technical knowledge
  • 1+ year of commercial HVAC experience preferred, particularly with light commercial equipment
  • Basic working knowledge of:
    • RTUs
    • DOAS systems
    • VRF/VRV systems
    • VFDs
    • Exhaust and supply fans
  • Basic troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Experience performing rooftop service work
  • Ability to follow established procedures and safety protocols
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with field teams and customers
  • Ability to manage priorities and work independently
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Flexibility to travel, work overtime, and occasional overnight work as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of hands-on HVAC service experience across multiple system types
  • Universal EPA Certification
  • HVAC/R technical school or accredited trade school training
  • Experience supporting installation or retrofit projects
