Job Overview – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Compensation: $115,000–$150,000/year
Location: Dallas, TX
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Dallas, TX for our client, supporting psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing behavioral health treatment. This role will provide patient-centered psychiatric care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary clinical team to develop and maintain appropriate treatment plans. The ideal candidate is a board-certified PMHNP with strong clinical judgment, psychiatric medication management experience, and the ability to provide care across diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP):

  • Psychiatric Evaluations: Conduct psychiatric assessments to evaluate patient needs, symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment progress.
  • Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications in accordance with clinical needs and established standards of care.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized behavioral health treatment plans and provide ongoing clinical recommendations.
  • Patient Care: Deliver evidence-based psychiatric and behavioral health services across diverse patient populations.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Collaborate with behavioral health professionals and other members of the clinical care team to support coordinated treatment.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate clinical documentation and provide care in accordance with professional, privacy, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP):

  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
  • Licensure: Active or eligible Texas advanced practice nursing licensure with appropriate prescriptive authority is required.
  • Certification: Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and appropriate prescribing credentials are required.
  • Experience: Psychiatric or behavioral health experience providing clinical assessment and medication management is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, psychopharmacology, behavioral health treatment, and applicable clinical standards is required.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, collaboration, and patient care skills are required.
