Job Details:As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities while helping them live meaningful, fulfilling lives.
Responsibilities include:- Participating in community outings and activities, including concerts, movies, swimming, shopping, and other recreational events
- Building positive relationships with individuals and their families
- Supporting daily routines and meaningful life experiences
- Assisting with dressing and grooming
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Providing toileting and personal hygiene support
- Assisting with bathing and showering
- Administering medications as trained and authorized
- Providing companionship, encouragement, and emotional support
- Assisting with repositioning and mobility needs
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, changing linens, kitchen upkeep, and general housekeeping
- Completing documentation and other assigned duties as needed
Qualifications:To be successful as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you should have a passion for helping others and demonstrate compassion, patience, and empathy in your daily interactions.
Requirements:- Prior direct care, caregiving, and DSP experience preferred, but not required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
- Proof of auto insurance
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, physical examination, and physical therapy assessment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
