The Opportunity

The Commodity Buyer Electrical & Mechanical Components is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers for critical parts and assemblies that support Integras operations. This role requires expertise in commodity strategies for both electrical systems (e.g., cables, connectors, switchgear) and mechanical components (e.g., sheet metal, fabricated parts, fasteners, enclosures), along with strong supplier relationship management and market intelligence skills. The Commodity Buyer will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives, ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable supply base.

What you will do?

  • Identify, qualify, and manage a competitive supplier base, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations for pricing, terms, and long-term agreements.
  • Lead supplier performance management through KPIs, scorecards, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Monitor and analyze commodity markets to identify cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering to source new components for product introductions and design changes, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Evaluate supplier capacity, technology, and financial stability to support scalability and mitigate supply chain risk.
  • Ensure purchase orders are placed on time to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Resolve supply issues, expedite orders when required, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Support production and quality teams with supplier issue resolution (e.g., NCRs, RCCA).
  • Partner with engineering to ensure electrical and mechanical components meet technical and compliance requirements.
  • Work with quality to maintain supplier certifications and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Coordinate with planning and operations to align sourcing decisions with SIOP and inventory strategies.

  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in commodity buying electrical and/or mechanical components.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint experience preferred).
