Job description

Summary
This position reports to the General Counsel of the Firm and supports critical ethics and risk management operations of the firm. The incumbent conducts conflicts analysis for new hires and new business in addition to supporting various legal compliance and professional responsibility activities conducted by Firm Counsel (General Counsel and Assistant General Counsels).

Required Education & Experience
  • Juris Doctor required.
  • Active bar license in jurisdiction where located.
  • 3 years of experience in a law or other professional service firm.
  • Experience with legal and corporate research through Lexis/Westlaw and other systems.

Preferred Education & Experience
  • Law Firm experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable jurisdiction's Rules of Professional Conduct, particularly those rules governing conflicts of interest.
  • Experience identifying and clearing conflicts, drafting conflict waivers, and preparing ethical wall memoranda.
  • Experience with conflicts systems such as Intapp Conflicts AI, Intapp Open or Elite.

  • Conflicts Clearing (60%)
    • Analyzes new hire and new business conflicts search results and works with lawyers and staff to resolve potential conflicts.
  • Conflict Waiver and Ethical Wall Management (20%)
    • Drafts conflict waivers and ethical walls.
    • Maintains files of conflict waivers and ethical walls.
  • Firm Counsel Support (15%)
    • Supports the legal compliance activities led by Firm Counsel.
    • Conducts research and reports on ethics and risk management topics as requested.
    • Other duties as necessary or assigned by General Counsel to the Firm.
  • General and Administrative (5%)
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
