What YOU will do: Take the lead in maintaining and restoring the structural integrity of modern commercial aircraft.

In this Role, You Will:

 

  • Perform hands-on airframe maintenance, structural repairs, and modifications on commercial aircraft.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to complete structural maintenance tasks.
  • Read and interpret:
    • Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM)
    • Structural Repair Manuals (SRM)
    • Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC)
    • ATA Chapters
    • Engineering drawings, blueprints, and task cards
  • Protect and maintain Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) during maintenance activities.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials in accordance with HazMat requirements and utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Measure, inspect, and evaluate aircraft damage using precision measuring tools, including:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Depth gauges
    • Torque wrenches
    • Machinist scales
  • Repair, replace, and install aircraft structural components, including:
    • Wing planks
    • Aircraft skins
    • Spars
    • Door corners
    • Leading edges
    • Frames
    • Seat tracks
    • Floor beams
    • Structural panels
  • Perform drilling, fastening, structural installations, corrosion removal, allowable damage assessments, and structural modifications in accordance with approved technical data.
  • Work safely and efficiently in confined spaces and at elevated heights.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, measurements, material thicknesses, repairs, and completed work.
  • Complete additional On-the-Job Training (OJT) assignments and other duties as required to support continuous skill development and operational excellence.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 

Working knowledge or ability to acquire skills in the following: 

  • Work under the general direction of a supervisor with guidance on methods, procedures, and expected outcomes.
  • Exercise sound judgment and decision-making while performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Complete assignments independently, with work typically reviewed upon completion.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members in a fast-paced aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Maintain mobility and manual dexterity to access and work throughout various sections of an aircraft.
  • Efficiently remove, repair, and install aircraft components and structural assemblies.
  • Remain focused and perform effectively during physically demanding shifts and extended work hours.
  • Stand and work on hard surfaces for the majority of the workday.
  • Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain situational awareness and the ability to hear environmental cues to ensure personal safety in a high-risk aviation maintenance environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and operational standards while performing assigned duties.

What YOU need:

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

 

              SUPERVISION:  Under the general direction of a supervisor. Normally performs duties after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. The assignment is   usually reviewed upon completion.

              INTERPERSONAL RELATION:  A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with co-workers and supervision.

              PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:  Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft and the dexterity to remove and replace parts in a timely manner. Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Must have the capacity to gain knowledge by hearing for one's own safety due to the dangers involved. The working environment requires standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces.

 

Required Education:                    High school diploma or GED

 

Preferred Qualifications:             FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred

                                                          24 months commercial A/C maintenance experience
