Job description

Who We Are Looking For
State Street Global Markets is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Vice President to join our North America FX Sales team in Boston. This hybrid role combines institutional Real Money FX Sales responsibilities with business development and commercialization of StreetFX, State Street's technology-enabled FX execution and workflow solution.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with institutional investors while driving the adoption of StreetFX across existing and prospective clients. This individual will partner closely with FX Trading, Relationship Management, Investor Services, Alpha, CRD, Product and Technology teams to deliver innovative foreign exchange solutions and support strategic business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Real Money FX Sales
  • Manage and develop relationships with institutional asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies, outsourced CIOs, sovereign wealth funds, and other Real Money investors.
  • Deliver timely market intelligence, FX market insights, and trade ideas to clients.
  • Identify opportunities to increase wallet share across spot, forwards, NDFs and FX execution services.
  • Partner closely with FX traders to deliver high-quality execution and client service.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to generate revenue growth and deepen client engagement.
  • Participate in new business opportunities alongside Relationship Managers and broader State Street teams.
  • Represent State Street at industry conferences, client events, and market forums.

StreetFX Sales & Business Development
  • Serve as a key commercial resource for StreetFX across North America.
  • Identify opportunities within State Street's asset manager and asset owner client base to automate foreign exchange workflows through StreetFX.
  • Lead client discussions, demonstrations, and solution presentations highlighting:
    • Workflow automation
    • Operational efficiency
    • Execution flexibility
    • Transparency and reporting
    • OMS and front-office integration
    • Scalable FX operating models
  • Partner with Product, Technology, Operations and Client Service teams to support successful implementations and client onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of StreetFX opportunities and support revenue forecasting.
  • Collaborate with Investor Services, Alpha, CRD and Relationship Management teams to identify cross-sell opportunities and enhance client engagement.

Strategic Growth Initiatives
  • Build strong partnerships across State Street Global Markets and broader State Street business lines.
  • Identify industry trends, competitive developments and client requirements to support future product enhancements.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, client education programs and strategic marketing campaigns.
  • Leverage analytics, technology and market data to improve sales effectiveness and client outcomes.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in institutional FX sales, capital markets sales, FX trading, electronic trading solutions, or related financial services roles.
  • Strong knowledge of foreign exchange markets and institutional investment processes.
  • Proven ability to build and manage senior client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and consultative selling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple teams and business functions.

Preferred
  • Experience selling technology-enabled trading or workflow solutions.
  • Understanding of investment manager operating models and trading workflows.
  • Familiarity with OMS, EMS, middle-office or outsourced trading environments.
  • CFA, MBA or related professional designation preferred.

Success Measures
  • Growth in Real Money FX revenue generation.
  • Expansion of client wallet share and strategic account penetration.
  • StreetFX pipeline creation, conversion and implementation success.
  • Increased adoption of technology-enabled FX solutions.
  • Development of cross-divisional partnerships and referral opportunities.
  • Achievement of annual revenue, business development and strategic objectives.

Salary Range:
$175,000 - $175,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
